TWU Members Dig Out After Winter Storm

During a record-breaking blizzard on the East Coast, TWU members worked through the weekend storm, and they continue to dig cities out of the snow this week. Check out members at JFK airport in New York and others from across all divisions on the new  TWU Instagram. If you posted a photo of TWU members working through the snow, tag @transportworker if you'd like to share.

TWU Works to Pass Friendly FAA Funding Bill

Congress must renew the Federal Aviation Administration funding soon, and TWU is working to make sure the funding bill includes several provisions that work for our members, including measures that would: improve flight attendant safety by banning knives from planes, increase accountability in foreign aircraft repair stations, and even the playing field between safety inspections at foreign and U.S.-based repair stations.

    Labor In the Supreme Court

The latest attack on workers rights is in the Supreme Court. The case, Friedrichs vs. California Teachers Association, has been bankrolled by one percenters, and if they win, it will be harder than ever for working people to come together for a voice on the job. To learn more, check out this handy infographic from the AFL-CIO.

    Members Celebrate Dr. King's Legacy

Hundreds of TWU members came from near and far to attend the 2016 Martin Luther King Jr. Civil and Human Rights Conference in Washington, D.C. While learning how to be effective political advocates, members also came together to serve the community by packing more than 400 meals for seniors in need. Attendees even braved the cold to march proudly in the Southeast D.C. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade. Check out photos of the parade on Flickr.

Who Should TWU Endorse for President?

Election season is upon us, and your union wants to hear from YOU! If you haven't taken the TWU member survey about the 2016 presidential endorsement, do so now. Click here to fill out the survey.
